Youth@Work 4.0 #DigComp for the Youth Work Sector (03/08/2020)

This activity was a result of one of the Youth@Work Partnership events organized in 2018. The idea was developed based on the needs when we compare the development of other sectors such as business, industry. The activity will be a training course and aims to empower youth workers and build the capacities for development of digital youth work in organizations.

YOUTH@WORK PARTNERSHIP

In 2018, a consortium of 11 Erasmus+ Youth in Action National Agencies (NAs), 4 SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres and the Resource Centre for the European Solidarity Corps decided to take a new approach to support employability and entrepreneurship amongst young people and professionals. They, therefore, created the Youth@Work Strategic Partnership on Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship, with the aim to better address these areas by working collaboratively, based on a common strategy.

Youth@Work is an alliance of the NAs of Turkey (the leading NA), Cyprus, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Poland, Republic of North Macedonia, Spain, and the UK, with the support of the SALTO-YOUTH Eastern Europe and Caucasus (Poland), SALTO-YOUTH Euromed and Good Practices (France), SALTO-YOUTH South East Europe (Slovenia) and SALTO-YOUTH Training and Cooperation (Germany) Resource Centres, as well as the Resource Centre for the European Solidarity Corps. It runs from January 2018 to December 2020, when the Erasmus+ Programme ends.

Train participants on the digital competencies required to increase the youth work’s impact.

Empower youth workers to be innovative in supporting young people’s engagement in learning opportunities in employability and entrepreneurship skills.

Improve the approach in the youth field in addressing the generations’ gaps and the update of the new young generation in using digital tools in life and work.

Introduce relevant resources used in Y@W, such as Entrecomp and DigiComp, and how to be utilized.

Methodology

The methodology adopted is based on the non-formal learning approach (i.e. training sessions, group working, collective learning, group and panel discussions, field visit, and inputs from experts) and will offer space to closely engage participants in sharing their practices, tools, experiences, and relevant resources through Open Space Technology. The activity is also an opportunity to explore how the youth work can be effective in the digital era through visiting practices in the field in Greece and guest speakers.
